VSC is a 50l(C)(3) organization.

VSC’s annual operating budget is approximately $350,000. This figure includes all operational costs and salaries for 3 full time staff members, all of whom have been with VSC for more than 25 years - plus 3 part time staff.

VSC purchased its townhouse/office in the early 1970's and, as a result, our occupancy costs are limited to building upkeep, utilities and insurance.

Our overhead costs are 6.8%

Since 2008, our support comes from foundations including The Arcana Foundation, the Blum-klover Fund, the Cafritz Foundation, the Capitol Hill Community Foundation, the Clark-Winchcole Foundation, the Commonweal Foundation, the Walter A. Bloedorn Foundation, the Herb Block Foundation, the Meyer Foundation, the Jovid Foundation, Workers of St. Albans, the Phase Foundation, the Weissberg Foundation, and the William S. Abell Foundation. We receive funding as well through the United Planning Organization, the District's Justice Grants Administration, local law firms–and from hundreds of individuals in the Washington area who support and believe in the work we do.

VSC's most recent audit is for fiscal year 2009 (July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009). It is available upon request. Our expenses for FY '10 (July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010) are anticipated at $446,000.
